I discovered something about myself:

I like to be in the front of the pack when I run. This a bit of a problem considering 99.9% of the time, I will not be in the front of any packs when I'm running. Last night, however, I did a little speed workout with Jack Rabbit training group that consisted of mile and half-mile repeats, and I was in the lead group the whole time!!! It was so much easier to run my own pace when I wasn't try to keep up with people who are much faster than me. Which is what I would do when I trained with TNT. I'd go out too fast, burn out half way through the workout, get all discouraged, and essentially give up. So...I suppose I need to get over it. It's hard though. Being in the front was fun last night. Plus, look how well I'd fit in with the leaders!

I take it back!!!!

Apparently the Jack Rabbit group has been doing speed work and such. I just haven't been there (change in schedule). And coach Danny offered to help me out on a different night!

WE LOVE JACK RABBIT!!!

Another coach with an accent...

First Jack Rabbit workout last night. Pretty straight forward. We'll be taking it easy for the first few sessions. I ran into someone I know from Team in Training, so that was fun. There were about 25 people there. I think I'll be more focuused in a smaller group with less of a social scene.

The funniest part of this program is that the coach is Spanish! Oh right, you probably don't know why that's funny. Well, the head coach for Team in Training NYC, who I've trained with for 3 events, is Ramon Bermo, this crazy Spanish guy who has this larger than life persona. So here I am listening to this guy Danny last night, and it totally could've been Ramon! I thought I was supposed to be trying some different! Maybe it's a running program prerequisite: must have charismatic Spanish coach.
