They're the limited addition Asics Gel Kayano 15 commemorating the New York City Marathon. I kind of want them. But are they a little too "Look at me! I ran the marathon!" Like the horrid orange shirts they gave us last year? A little running-nerdish?
The official description from the marathon website really makes them sound dorky:

So why do I still want them???

Yes they are running nerd-ish, but I also love and covet them. I think if I a) were running the marathon this year, and b) wore Kayanos, I would buy a pair. Also, I LOVE last year's orange shirt! LOVE LOVE LOVE! So maybe I just have bad taste and you should disregard this opinion. :-)
I say embrace your inner running nerd and get the shoes!!
