Weekend Roundup

Decent run on Saturday. 6.8 miles, 8:50ish pace. Not bad considering my allergies are out of control, and considering the amount of food and wine I ingested the night before. We had an amazing dinner at Lupa for Luis' mom's birthday. Of course Luis' sister works there, so there was extra free food galore. I can't even list it all, but the pork shoulder, market fish (wild bass), and tartufo were unfreakingbelievable.

So on Saturday, I ran, stood at a table for 2 hours handing out TNT fliers, and finally it was off to my parent's house for rest and relaxation in "the country." It's totally not the country, but they have a lovely house on a nice big lot. Luis and I got in just in time for dinner, and then my dad got us hooked on "In Treatment." So good...we may have to get HBO again.

Quick 3 mile recovery run on Sunday. Saw my brother, and of course he noticed how silly my hair looks with my fleece headband/ear cover on. Maybe the side-swept bangs aren't so cute after all. Too bad. I don't need an earache on top of these allergies.

I finally got to cook for my parents! Honey savory chicken and curried carrot soup. Very easy and they seemed to like it! The soup has become my preferred method of using up extra carrots. Here's the recipe, courtesy of Martha Stewart.

Back to BK...and to Sister...

I don't think she moved the whole day we were gone!

Aw... she is so adorable! But when you know she's slept all day, don't you just want to wake her up to work off some of the energy that's bound to surface at 5 a.m.?

Yeah, she's a little snuggle bug. Gillian - I do bug her all the time while she sleeps. Sometimes I think the 5am wake-ups are payback!
